From insecurity to insecurity
False hopes and the constant thought
“If I show more, the more
I’ll attract the right kind of guy”
This is of course a classic sign
Of Teen Heart Syndrome
Deceiving yourself
Feeling false feelings

And I think I’ve found
(Yes it’s a miracle)
The only cure
You’ll have to hide behind a painted face
And live out you life in a lie
As a harlequin
The way to save yourself
From the carnivores
Protection in falsehood
(but maybe that'll just make things worse
we're not really sure yet)

Mary Jane joints, slipping grades, and broken hearts
Being what they’re not
Thinking it’ll only make things better
But don’t you see?
Life is pain
And anyone who says otherwise
is lying to themselves

And I think I’ve found
(Yes it’s a miracle)
The only cure
You’ll have to hide behind a painted face
And live out you life in a lie
As a harlequin
The way to save yourself
From the carnivores
Protection in falsehood
(but maybe that'll just make things worse
we're not really sure yet)
And the only way it seems...

To wake up from this disease
Is to take a wrong turn,
bruise your knee,
fill yourself with regret
and many worse things
so put on the white powder
paint your face
hide you lips
Live in Teen Heart Syndrome
Become the harlequin

And I think I’ve found
(Yes it’s a miracle)
The only cure
You’ll have to hide behind a painted face
And live out you life in a lie
As a harlequin
The way to save yourself
From the carnivores
Protection in falsehood

Can’t anyone see? We know everything about the lives of the famous, when we know nothing about ourselves.
Written a while ago. It's supposed to sound kinda funny, it was originally a burlesque-like satire. But I don't know how much that worked out. anyway, enjoy if you can.

Providing an alternative face for protection of feelings and furthering pursuits can certainly be beneficial, I agree.
